Jen Fahey, Cruise Chair |
| Having started in March of 2009, I am relatively new to the religion of paddling. An avid downhill skier, runner, and
hiker, I was looking for a sport that would be a good alternative during the dog days of summer. A good friend and fellow
CCC member told me about whitewater kayaking... it seemed to fit the bill perfectly. In the few short months of my paddling
career, I've managed to get several rivers / bodies of water under my belt (Middle Haw, Cape Fear, Charlotte Whitewater
Park, Falls Dam, Dan at Kibler, Tuckasegee, Nantahala, New River, Roanoke River, Weldon Falls) thanks to some very
generous CCC veterans who were willing to guide me. I've also been able to take advantage of the fine instruction
offered during the Novice Clinic and Swiftwater Rescue classes. Now it's my turn to give back as your Cruise Chair.
In my professional life, I test software and coordinate large testing projects for Fidelity Investments. Project planning, coordinating with different project teams, and managing multiple concurrent schedules are examples of skills I employ in my professional life that would serve me well as your Cruise Chair. Oh yeah, and did I mention I love to paddle and have fun, too? What I lack in experience, I make up for in enthusiasm! Woo hoo! |

As your Cruise Chair, I will coordinate and try "with a little help from my friends" to come up with some fun events for
the Week of Rivers and Labor Day Weekend trips, ensure trips and roll session schedules are posted to the CCC website in
a timely manner, work with The Paddler staff to get the word out about upcoming trips and events, and coordinate trip
incentive programs. I also pledge to work with the rest of the board to implement fresh ideas and programs that will
benefit the CCC membership and paddling community.
While I'm not a good enough paddler yet to lead trips, I welcome the opportunity to serve as your Cruise Chair... it would be my way of paying it forward. | ||
