2020 Week Of Rivers Status

CCC Membership,

Understandably many of you are concerned about the status of the Week Of Rivers (WOR). I want to share with you the latest from the CCC Board.

We are in a challenging time that is impacting us all. As always, our first priority is the safety and health of our membership.

The Board has had multiple meetings on the topic, the most recent on Wednesday, April 29. The next meeting is on May 20. At that point we will make a decision on whether WOR will happen. We are monitoring the coronavirus itself, the State of NC guidance as well other critical factors (ACA guidance, Swain County guidance, Bryson City guidance, Availability of the campground, etc.). Even with the State of NC phased plan for reopening, we should all be prepared that the size of our event may not meet State of NC gathering size guidance at the time of WOR.
