WOR SMMC pre-registration

While no registration is currently required to attend Week of Rivers (WOR), CCC membership is required to attend. Make sure to check the status of your membership.

SMMC maintains a list of reserved sites for CCC members who previously attended WOR on a reserved site. For those on that list, notifications went out a couple of weeks ago for pre-registration. If you believe you have a pre-reserved site (camping/cabin/RV) and did not receive the notification (sent from smokeymountainmeadows@gmail.com) you should reach out to SMMC.  The deadline to register is May 15.

For those unfamiliar with the process, SMMC maintains a pre-reservation list to permit members to maintain their “historical” sites. There’s a waiting list for those sites. A few of those SMMC sites that can be pre-reserved become available every year. If those sites become available, notification will be provided at that time. For those unfamiliar with the SMMC policies you can find them here: https://www.carolinacanoeclub.org/wp-content/uploads/WOR-Guidelines-2024.pdf

  • For those who plan to just show up and camp in the field, there’s no need to do anything in advance.
  • For those who plan to camp or stay elsewhere, there’s nothing else to do in advance (plan to show up a bit early for the first morning meeting to pick up your parking pass).

CCC membership is required to attend WOR. Note you must maintain your CCC membership to have a pre-reserved SMMC site. Those who let their membership lapse can lose their SMMC pre-reservation. Make sure to check the status of your membership.
