Location: Tuck Gorge Take Out, 10am-3pm
Description: An afternoon clinic isn’t long enough to cover every detail of managing groups, but it is long enough to give you a brief overview of what goes in to being a diligent paddler and a proactive leader. The best rescue is the one that never happens; we’ll cover the basics of risk and group management, equipment, and effective communication. You’ll get the feel for what goes into a day of leading a trip downstream.
Minimum: 4 | Maximum: 10 all disciplines welcome

Times: 11 am – Noon, Noon to 1 PM, and 1 PM to 2 PM

Participants should have a reliable river roll.
Participants will be assigned a one-hour time based on ability and availability.

Location: Tsali access area at Fontana Lake, 10 AM – 1 PM
THIS IS NOT A CLINIC TO LEARN HOW TO ROLL!!! This is for those who want to improve their technique for teaching the roll to others.
Description: We’ll break the roll down for you in a way you might not have thought of it before: as an instructor. Do you ever find yourself standing in the pool with a buddy looking to get into kayaking? This clinic will cover the roll not just in terms of mechanics but in a language and style that lends itself to teaching. You’ll learn how to troubleshoot common pitfalls as well as gain comfort and orientation working with a student.
Minimum: 2 paddlers
Maximum: 10 paddlers

Wednesday July 22014 WOR Nantahala Outdoor Center Long Boat ClinicCost: $20
Instructors: Nantahala Outdoor Center's Pro Paddling School Instruction
When: Wednesday July 2nd, 10:30am – 12pm
Where: Surfers Rapid to Nantahala Falls
What: Long Boat clinic (Greenboat, Karma UL, Stinger or old school long boats, etc.)
Abstract: Long boating is all the rage. It develops river running skills, fitness and technique that all translate back to your shorter boat. These boats aren't just designed just for the Green Race … they are every bit of fun (if not more) on the Nantahala, or elsewhere. Dagger Greenboat, Jackson Karma UL and Liquidlogic Stingers are available from the NOC … or bring your own.
Reward: For participating, you'll receive a nice discount of a future purchase of your long boat of choice at the NOC Outfitters Store

Thursday 03 July- Intermediate/Advanced Creeking
Location: Upper/Middle Ocoee, meet at Middle Ocoee Put In 10am-3pm
This is NOT a First Timers Trip on the Middle Ocoee!!
Participants should be comfortable in Class III+ with a solid Class III roll.
Description: This clinic is best suited for boaters looking to push their creeking skills. Advanced techniques covered will include variations of the boof, compound strokework, and linking moves. If you’ve done some creeking but are looking to take your comfort on steeper whitewater to the next level, this clinic is for you!
