2018 Free Level 4 Swift Water Rescue Training!
The Carolina Canoe Club has been given the opportunity to send four of our members FREE OF CHARGE to a level 4 swift water rescue course. Along with this being a free event participants will also be given basic rescue equipment to keep. The organizers have requested that participants have not taken a swift water course before and be actively involved in the paddling community. Those interested should follow the link on the CCC webpage as the four chosen have to be members of the CCC not just the Facebook group. There will be a short form to fill out as well as writing a few paragraphs about yourself and why you wish to be chosen as a participant. The course will be held the weekend of July 21st 2018 with a location TBD. Questions can be directed to safety.chair@carolinacanoeclub.org.
Because this is a free event (wow!) and because of the limited seats available, we are asking anyone who would like to participate to submit a short piece as to why they should be chosen to go and represent the Carolina Canoe Club. The organizers ask that participants have never attended a swiftwater rescue course before as they are attempting to spread knowledge as wide as possible. Participants will be provided with rescue gear to keep. The course will be held on the weekend of July 21st 2018 with a location to be determined.
Submissions should be a written in paragraph form and explain who you are, your overall paddling experience, and why it would benefit the paddling community for you receive this training.
The four most complete, coherent, and comprehensive submissions will be chosen, that meet the requirements and intentions set forth by the organizers. Any questions can be directed to safety.chair@carolinacanoeclub.org.
Good Luck!
P.S – Please consider typing our your submission in legit word processor first, and not using the webform it self as a place to craft your submission. Remember that you only get ONE submission, so make it count!
