2018 Ocoee Drawdown
The last year of Ocoee Drawdown (really, no foolin’, it went away with the new release schedule). Ocoee Drawdown is a wonderful time. The leaves are usually starting to change. The weather is starting to cool. The Ocoee is much quieter on the weekends, and completely deserted during the week. A great chance to learn the river, or try new lines.
Since 1976, the Ocoee has welcomed many to miles of challenging and exciting Class III/III+ rapids on one of the country’s premier rivers. The Middle Ocoee River is a 5-mile stretch of whitewater that takes you through rapids such as Grumpy’s, Broken Nose, Diamond Splitter, and Table Saw.
I’ll be camping at Thunder Rock Campground. First-timers with appropriate experience welcome. A great chance to get together with friends new and old. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at ocoee@corwyn.net. Let me know if you’re coming, and I’ll see you there!
Updates:
a) It looks like Drawdown has been added back to the overall release schedule! Woot!
b) I have reserved the Group Camping site at Thunder Rock, so everyone has a place to stay!

All participants in any Carolina Canoe Club (CCC) trip do so as common adventurers. The CCC or its individual members may coordinate paddling trips but no one is considered leader of a trip. As common adventurers, all participants take the responsibility for making their own decisions including, but not limited to, whether it is safe for them to participate on any particular water body, what equipment they need and use, the routes they may choose to paddle, whether their skill levels and abilities are adequate for the activity or whether climate and water conditions are appropriate for their participation. Participants are exclusively responsible for their own safety.
Individual coordinators for all CCC activities set requirements per their sole discretion. The CCC does not necessarily endorse or approve requirements set by coordinators.
