Fall Meeting is Now OPEN- here are the details
2011 CCC Online Club Business Meeting (Oct. 24-30)
As we discussed in previous meetings, we will be experimenting with an online “virtual meeting” this month. The goal is to involve a larger number of members in the Club’s governance, and to get thoughtful input from more members than are able to attend physical meetings.
The logistics are quite simple. The meeting will operate as an online forum (ie, message board). Officers and staff will create new forum topics, and the entire membership will be invited to discuss those topics. Mon-Wed will be devoted to discussion of Club officer/staff reports; the remainder of the week will be spent discussing a few larger business items, including election of officers, a potential increase in dues, and the evolving nature of the Cruise Chair position.
A few ground rules:
- Don’t be a jerk. Personal attacks, vulgarity, etc. will not be tolerated and will result in suspension of your access to the Message Boards for the remainder of the meeting period.
- Only officers/staff should start new forum topics.
- If you have a topic you would like to see discussed in the second half of the week, please email it to president at carolinacanoeclub.org. I will try to fit in as many topics as we can, but some may need to be tabled until later meetings.
- Please participate actively. However, keep in mind that most people won’t be at their computers all day. Thus, give people time to reply to your comments before continuing conversations- you don’t have to respond to every comment immediately.
- THINK before you reply.
Logistics:
- login with your username/password
- Go to Members Only/Discussion Boards, where you will see a section of folders underneath a blue row entitled 2011 Fall Meeting.
- Clicking on a folder will present you with a group of threads.
- Read through the threads and comment or ask questions as you see fit using the Reply links. DO NOT create new threads- they will be moved or deleted.
I’m looking forward to an interesting and thoughtful week of discussion.
Spencer
