Rainy Day Safety Topic
Covid 19, Winter, and Rainy days have kept many paddlers indoors here recently. These are good times to start checking and cleaning your gear for the upcoming Spring. Along with your gear you should also be checking your skills, particularly your medical and safety skills. While getting a safety class on the river is hard to do right now, getting CPR/1st Aid certified for the first time or getting a refresher because its been a long time is something you can do. There are many local companies and individuals that are still teaching these classes at a reasonable price. This message will go out through all the media channels within the Carolina Canoe Club but feel free to comment on Facebook about any locations in your area that are still scheduling classes for certification and re certification. All of you awesome medical professionals please add any additional information for the group to benefit from. I will relay any comments or questions from the non Facebook users to the Facebook comments. Let us as a community help each other out by making sure we are prepared for any event on or off the water and give all those who are not certified or are in need of a recertification a direction to start moving towards. On the Safety and Rescue classes, I will have more on that later in the Spring so stay tuned.
Thank you,
