Website Migration Complete
As background, the CCC website was built in ~2009 on a Content Management System (CMS) called Drupal. Support for our Drupal version ended in 2016, with no direct migration path. We started working on a website transition from Drupal to WordPress in early 2019.
Per the previous announcement, the CCC has migrated the website to a new hosting platform (as well as an overall revamp of function and content across the entire site).
You will need to reset your password. You can reset your password here. All profile information should have migrated, but you might want to check your address and user profile!
If you have forgotten your user name and/or email address associated with your account, you can contact the CCC Membership Chair.
The following content has been included in the migration:
192 announcements
1,659 calendar events (including 276 activities, 369 trips, and 31 cleanups and lots of roll practices!)
251 trip reports
139 forum topics (and 308 replies)
22 officer reports
The website:
- Handles all of our membership purchasing and access (Now with Paypal, Paypal Guest, and Stripe for those Paypal luddites)
- That same function provides us the ability to sell items (which we do on occasion)
- Has calendaring, which our members can use, to schedule activities of various sort (trips, activities, roll practices, river clean-ups). That calendaring also permits paid events and registrations (that now includes templates making clinic setup far easier).
- Officers have the ability to perform unique officer-like tasks.
- A trip report function, where our members can write up their activities.
- Officers/Staff can:
- Submit officer reports, which display on the site
- Submit Announcements, which display on the site.
- Add Activities to the calendar
- Edit site content
- A polling/voting function, tied to membership, so we can have voting where membership is required.
- Sends out email notifications to our mailing list when content is created on the site.
- Notifies officers of specific content (forums)
- Notifies the webmaster of site changes
- A (basic) membership forum, where we can hold member-only discussions.
- A file management system, tied to membership, where we can store club documents. Files can be linked in a secure way if we so choose.
- A responsive theme, that deals better with today’s small mobile devices.
- Backs up on a recurring basis to Amazon AWS, with a recovery plan (thanks Dave!).
- A development site to test updates and other changes.
A few features were not chosen for migration. They were rarely used, or available elsewhere:
- Printable membership cards
- Photo gallery
- On-line full membership roster
- Intra-user messaging
With our hosting provider’s mandatory changes, I had to publish the site with some of the planned features deferred. They’ll be worked on as time permits:
- Cross-posting to Facebook – enabled 10/13/20
- Cross-posting Events to Meetup – enabled 10/13/20
- Social Media Login (Log in with your Facebook or Google Account)
- Subscriptions (so memberships can auto-renew)
If you experience any issues, please report them on them on the forum.
Enjoy!
Rick
