Join us for a bi-annual event coordinated with SOLO for a Wilderness First Aid Certification.

Training will be held for 16-hour or 2-days. This is an entry-level course that is the ideal certification for any outdoor enthusiasts looking for basic first aid training and back country medical skills. The focus of the course will be on injuries that may happen while outdoors or boating.  We will also be offering CPR training for an additional fee on the final day of training. Wilderness First Aid (WFA) covers topics ranging from preparation and prevention to assessment and treatment. Students will have an opportunity to learn practical skills through hands-on scenarios as well as in a traditional classroom setting.

Please take advantage of this course as the CKC offers this at a very reduced rate if compared with other venues.  One never knows what may happen out camping or boating, and it never hurts to have some basic first aid knowledge.

Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is a 2-year certification.

Cost

  • Wilderness First Aid – $180
  • CPR Training – $25

All participants in any Carolina Canoe Club (CCC) trip do so as common adventurers. The CCC or its individual members may coordinate paddling trips but no one is considered leader of a trip. As common adventurers, all participants take the responsibility for making their own decisions including, but not limited to, whether it is safe for them to participate on any particular water body, what equipment they need and use, the routes they may choose to paddle, whether their skill levels and abilities are adequate for the activity or whether climate and water conditions are appropriate for their participation. Participants are exclusively responsible for their own safety.

Individual coordinators for all CCC activities set requirements per their sole discretion. The CCC does not necessarily endorse or approve requirements set by coordinators.
