If you ever thought a day of paddling wore you out, you should try CC William’s Skills course workout! Great day in the water with a couple of great instructors and we finally have our first CCC Safety and Rescue course in the books after a couple year hiatus. CC Williams and Griffen Williams did an outstanding job teaching L3 River Safety and Rescue Skills course for the Carolina Canoe Club yesterday. We had many who had just entered the sport which is great to see them already attending a safety course and along side them were some long time paddlers getting a good refresher. Among the attendees were Lisa Geist, Jennifer Cope, Nathan Anderson, Bill Learn, Dan and Tara Gosner, John Mattox, and Daniel Dvorak.  We also has the hopeful RSR Instructor Candidates there for their day 1 of 4 in their ICW. Those included Jennifer Stockwell, David Freeman, Patrick Murphy, Chris Brewer, CJ Bean, Chris Mattox, and the now very wore out William Holman. After that day of great training and exercise I think all 7 of us know we have our work cut out for us. Big thanks to CC Williams and Griffen Williams for awesome instruction and helping the CCC out and also to that awesome Safety Chair for setting all this up. Next up is the big test for the instructor candidates at the end of the month to see if they can make the cut, then we start putting other classes on the calendar for the rest of you to get some good training. Be on the look out for more courses to start hitting the calendar after this month is over. Last little note, we had a surprise to unveil with a group photo yesterday but I think everyone was so wore out afterwards that it never happened so stay tuned and watch for my next outing group photo or the group photo from the ICW at the end of the month!
