We had 4 people meet at Fishtop Access for this trip. Barrett Black, Luba Healy, Paula Conrad and myself met at 11 AM, set shuttle and were on the water by 11:45  Level was a 100% release with no additional rain runoff. This was Barrett’s PFD and Paula’s 2nd run.  This was a great beginning to a fun weekend at GAF. One swim by me when I missed my roll after trying a few flat spins at Superman Rapid. We caught a lot of eddies, practiced ferrying, peeling out, and some surfing. Barrett headed to Ocoee after this paddle. Paula and I headed to Bryson City and Luba returned home (Waynesville).  We had so much fun, Paula, Luba and I met at Fishtop on Sunday  to paddle the Lower Green again with some of the Foothill Paddlers. This is a great section for beginners to learn and practice catching eddies, ferrying, peeling out, and surfing, as well as being a beautiful section. Especially before Memorial Day and after Labor Day when there are very few if any tubers on the river.
