Thanks to all 22 paddlers who joined us for Paddling with the Profs!

We spent March 28 and 29 on the Yadkin River, with a night of camping (28th) at Boone’s Cave Park.

The weather was fantastic both days, with blue sky and high 70s. The river was at 1.50 which meant there was minimal flow to assist the journey, but paddling the lower portion heading into High Rock Lake, the water level was good from the Highway 64 put in, to Yadkin River Park. There were some nice ripples and rapids during day one which added some fun and interest to the journey. The headwinds were consistent on both days so one paddler likened it to “paddling in porridge.”

All things considered, it was a fun, 2-day workout, and a great trip to introduce new paddlers to the sport. Several ROTC students from the Triad area universities (High Point, NCA&T, and WSSU) joined the event.
